Financial Aid Financial
aid at FSW is based on need as principally determined
through FACTS Business Solutions for Education
(FACTS) report and an application letter requesting a specific
amount of assistance. Reapplication for financial aid is required on
a yearly basis. In the allocation of Financial Aid, families who are
already enrolled at FSW receive priority, if they apply before the
first Financial Aid Application deadline of January 15th.
Families who are already
enrolled and need financial assistance with tuition
should:
- Request the appropriate Financial
Aid Forms from the school secretary by December 1st.
- Complete and return the "Friends
School of Wilmington Financial Aid Request" form to Mesha Batts at
207 Pine Grove Drive or Ann Souder at 350 Peiffer Avenue by
January 15th.
- Send the original copy of the
forms to FACTS, along with a check to cover their fee, no later
than January 15th. If this deadline is met, the Finance
Committee will inform families of Financial Aid determinations
before the re-enrollment deposit is due on February 1st.
- If a returning family misses this
deadline, their request for Financial Aid will be considered with
the requests of newly enrolling families. (See timeline
below.)
Newly enrolling
families should:
- Request the appropriate FACTS
forms from the school at the time of application.
- Complete and return the "Friends
School of Wilmington Financial Aid Request" form to Mesha Batts at
207 Pine Grove Drive or Ann Souder at 350 Peiffer Avenue.
- Send the
original copy of the forms to FACTS along with a check to cover
their fee as soon as possible after receiving the forms. It takes
between 3-4 weeks for FACTS to return an analysis of the family’s
ability to contribute to tuition. If we receive this analysis
before February 1st, the Finance Committee will make Financial Aid
determinations for newly enrolling families by March 1st.
- After this point, we will process
requests for Financial Aid every other month, until all Financial
Aid is allocated.
After your Financial Aid Form has been received, your
request will be considered and you will receive a letter informing
you about the amount of Financial Aid FSW is able to offer. In order
to receive the award, you must sign and return a copy of the letter
accepting the award by the deadline stated in that letter. If you do
not accept the award by the stated deadline, the funds will be
awarded to another applicant.
If your financial needs should change suddenly during
the year, you should contact the Head of School immediately.
Depending on the availability of funds, FSW may be able to provide
Financial Aid, or adjust your award. |
